Rabbits need far more space than most hutches provide. The widely accepted minimum for a single rabbit is a hutch of at least 1.2 m in length, plus daily access to a larger exercise run. A rabbit should be able to take three consecutive hops and stand fully upright on their hind legs without touching the roof.
A wire floor is a welfare problem. Rabbits do not have paw pads like cats and dogs, and prolonged standing on wire causes sore hocks. Look for a solid floor with deep bedding, or add a solid resting board if the hutch has wire sections.
For Canadian conditions, a hutch used outdoors needs a waterproof roof, a sheltered sleeping compartment, and protection from wind. Most rabbits cope with cold far better than heat - above 28 C is genuinely dangerous, so summer shade matters more than winter insulation.
