A real, handmade soap bar for dogs — no detergents, no synthetic fragrances, no sulphates. Just olive oil, coconut oil, oatmeal, and a calming blend of tea tree and lemongrass essential oils. Each bar is imprinted with a paw print and lathers gently enough for puppies and sensitive-skin dogs, while still leaving coats clean and fresh-smelling between full grooms.
Liquid dog shampoos rely on detergent surfactants (sulphates) and synthetic preservatives to stay shelf-stable. Most also contain artificial fragrances that can irritate sensitive skin or trigger ear flare-ups. A cold-process soap bar like this one is built from real saponified oils. The lather is naturally gentle and the oils nourish the coat instead of stripping it. Bonus: zero plastic packaging and a bar lasts roughly 3–4 baths for a medium-sized dog.
Wet your dog thoroughly with warm water. Rub the bar directly along the back and chest to deposit lather, or work the bar in your hands first to build suds and apply by hand. Avoid the eyes. Rinse fully — the natural oils mean no residue, but rinse anyway to keep the coat soft. For sensitive or itchy dogs, leave the lather on for 2–3 minutes before rinsing so the oatmeal can do its work.
Hand-poured in small batches in Canada by Garden Path Homemade Soap. Each bar is cured for several weeks before sale to ensure a mild, long-lasting bar. Ships from Canada with CAD pricing and qualifies for free shipping when paired with any other product over our $100 free-shipping threshold.
Yes. The formula contains no harsh detergents and uses food-grade oils. We still recommend bathing puppies under 8 weeks only when medically necessary and under guidance from your vet.
Roughly 3–4 baths for a medium-sized dog (15–25 kg) or 5–7 baths for a small dog. Storing on a draining soap dish between uses extends the bar's life.
In small amounts, yes — the ingredients are cat-safe. However, most cats don't need regular baths and may react to the lemongrass scent. Test on a small patch first.
Yes. The tea tree is present at a low percentage in a finished soap that's washed off, not left on. It's safe for routine dog bathing. Avoid if your dog has known tea tree sensitivity.
Dog skin is more alkaline (pH 7.5) than human skin (pH 5.5). This bar is balanced for canine skin, while most human soaps are too acidic and can disrupt the skin barrier.
Light, herbal scent that fades within 24 hours. Much less overpowering than commercial dog shampoos. Most owners describe it as 'clean and fresh' rather than 'perfumed.'
