A timothy hay tunnel that doubles as a chew, a hideout, and a treat. Banana Burrito is hand-rolled from premium first-cut timothy hay and sized to fit a rabbit, guinea pig, hamster, or other small pet snug enough to feel safe but loose enough to munch their way through the walls. Three sizes available to match every small pet.
Rabbits and guinea pigs need to chew constantly — their teeth grow continuously throughout life, and without coarse fiber to wear them down, dental issues become inevitable. A solid hay tunnel provides three benefits at once: it's a physical hideout that reduces stress, it's a chew that wears teeth naturally, and it's actually edible — once your pet has munched through it, they've consumed high-fiber hay that's the foundation of a healthy small-pet diet.
Most rabbits will investigate within minutes of you placing the tunnel in their enclosure. Initial behaviour is usually to nudge it, sit on top of it, then start chewing the ends. Within a few days the tunnel becomes a favorite nap spot — many rabbits sleep inside, head poking out one end. Guinea pigs use it as both hideout and food source simultaneously. Hamsters and small rodents typically chew rather than nest.
If you have two or more small pets, provide one tunnel per pet at minimum — small pets are territorial about hideouts. The tunnel itself is consumable, so you'll be replacing one every few weeks with regular use. Buying multiples is more cost-effective and prevents resource competition.
Keep unused tunnels in a dry, sealed container away from direct sunlight. The hay stays fresh for 6–9 months in storage. Once placed in an enclosure, expect a tunnel to last 1–4 weeks depending on how aggressive a chewer your pet is. Replace when more than half is consumed or when it becomes soiled.
Yes — it's 100% premium timothy hay with no glue, no binders, no synthetic materials. The same hay your rabbit or guinea pig already eats, just rolled into a tunnel shape.
Small for hamsters and dwarf rabbits, medium for standard rabbits (Holland Lop, Mini Rex, Dutch), large for big breeds (Flemish Giant, Continental Giant). Guinea pigs typically use medium.
1–4 weeks depending on your pet's chewing intensity. Heavy chewers go through one in 5–7 days; gentle chewers can stretch one to 3–4 weeks of active use.
Yes — the small size fits hamsters comfortably. Watch for over-bedding behaviour — some hamsters will shred the entire tunnel into bedding within a few days.
Yes, timothy hay is the standard staple for all life stages. For very young animals (under 7 months), make sure they also have access to alfalfa hay or pellets, which have higher calcium content for growing bones.
Fresh hay smell — pleasant, mild, almost like cut grass. No artificial fragrance. Some pets are drawn to it by smell alone.
